Overview
The Manager, Quality & Training, DC Services ensures the daily service quality standards of all sub-contractors working on AIT's behalf within data center environments. This role establishes training curriculums that leverage AIT's WG Training Center facility and sets vendor expectations for performance, KPIs, and continuous learning. The Director also acts as the lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) resource within the EMEA region, setting baseline standards for on-site safety.
Responsibilities
Sub-Contractor Service Quality Oversight
- Ensure the daily service quality standards are met by all sub-contractors performing work on AIT’s behalf within data center (DC) environments.
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for all activities and Statements of Work (SOWs) executed within DC environments.
- Monitor day-to-day vendor execution against contractual and quality expectations, addressing gaps in real time.
- Partner with Cloud Operations and site leadership to maintain consistent service quality across all DC locations.
Training Curriculum Development
- Design and maintain training curriculums for DC Services personnel and sub-contractor vendors, leveraging the WG Training Center facility.
- Set the training regimen and certification pathways for both external vendors and AIT personnel supporting DC environments.
- Develop continuous learning programs that keep vendor and internal teams current on evolving DC service requirements.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and update curriculum content based on performance data and industry best practices.
Vendor Performance, KPIs & Onboarding
- Establish vendor performance expectations, KPIs, and scorecards for all DC Services sub-contractors.
- Partner with Cloud Operations to identify, vet, and onboard new DC Services vendors within the EMEA region.
- Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and drive corrective action plans where standards are not met.
- Build strong working relationships with vendor partners to support long-term service reliability.
EHS Leadership & Safety Standards, EMEA
- Serve as the lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) resource for the EMEA region across all DC Services activities.
- Establish and maintain baseline on-site safety standards for all personnel and sub-contractors operating within data center environments.
- Conduct safety audits and site assessments, ensuring compliance with local regulations and AIT policy.
- Lead incident investigation, reporting, and corrective action processes for EHS events within EMEA DC sites.
Strategy Leadership – Data Center Services 2.0
- Act as strategy leader for the “2.0” evolution of DC Services operations within theEMEA region.
- Proactively identify solutions to future service and geographic needs as the DC Services footprint expands.
- Partner with regional and global leadership to align DC Services strategy with broader Cloud Operations goals.
Team Building & Talent Development
- Build and develop a team of qualified personnel with specialized expertise in the data center ecosystem.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development opportunities for direct reports and vendor partner teams.
- Foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement across the DC Services organization.
Client-Facing Commercial Support
- Serve as a client-facing representative within EMEA to support commercial activities related to DC service execution.
- Partner with sales and account management teams to address client quality, training, and safety questions.
- Represent AIT’s DC Services quality and safety standards in client meetings, audits, and business reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Progressive experience in data center operations, quality assurance, or sub-contractor/vendor management.
