About the role

Our Electrification & Innovation (E&I) business empowers Australians to transition towards a cleaner energy future, with the ambition of being our customers' partner of choice in their electrification journey. As an end-to-end electrification business, we develop leading, sustainable and scalable electrification products at pace, constantly improving our offerings to deliver the best value to our customers. We actively invest in innovation, testing new ideas and rapidly scaling the most promising into products and propositions that help customers get more value from their energy, while growing customer retention, load and flexibility value across AGL's retail portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Manager Commercial & Data leads the Commercial & Data Enabling Function. The function provides commercial, financial and data analysis and modelling across all E&I products, and coordinates E&I's business performance and prioritisation. Reporting to the General Manager E&I and partnering closely with value stream and product leads, the role ensures E&I's investment, prioritisation and performance decisions are commercially sound and grounded in data. The function helps shape decisions rather than simply validating them, and is recognised as the go-to experts in growth, value creation and business performance. As a key member of the E&I Leadership Team, the role is custodian of E&I's opex and capex apportionment, business performance reporting and cross functional value realisation frameworks. It also acts as the conduit between E&I, Finance and other cross-functional teams.

To be successful in this role, we need you to be passionate about:

• Commercial Leadership and Delivery: Set the direction, standards, and accountability for commercial modelling and business case work across the Electrification & Innovation team
• Insight to Decision: Challenge and quality-assure analytic outputs to create clear and concise recommendations for senior leaders and product teams to act on
• Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Partnership: Build trusted relationships with value stream leads, product leads, finance, strategy, corporate development, and technology teams
• Enterprise Value Articulation: Define, quantify and gain agreement on the value that electrification products create
• Investment Governance: Act as the custodian of Electrification & Innovation team's Opex and Capex, oversee governance and prioritisation cadence
• People Leadership and Capability: Attract, lead, and develop a high performing team, fostering a collaborative, curios and innovative culture

About You

We are looking for someone who wants a seat at a senior leadership level, and wants to be at the forefront of the energy transition for our customers. You will also have some experience with any of the following;

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, leadership skills and evidence of having built high-performing teams through effective coaching and mentoring.
• Demonstrated expertise in Commercial, Strategy, Financial Modelling or other relevant field.
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing both individual contributors and senior leaders.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience of working with third parties and partnerships
• Subject matter expertise in domestic electrification products. 
• The ability to quickly earn the respect of executive stakeholders, government and key business councils in order to drive industry wide change.
• Proof of relentless focus on (1) the customer (2) driving a high performing team.
