Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations to ensure the accurate and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials and products. This role supervises a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards, inventory accuracy, and timely support to production. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in supporting AAON’s production goals and operational excellence.

Primary Duties

This role ensures the smooth operation of warehouse functions, including receiving, storing, staging, and distributing materials to support production and shipping activities.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff involved in material handling, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
• Hire, train, and coach team members while enforcing company policies and safety procedures.
• Develop work schedules and assign tasks to ensure timely and accurate material flow to the production floor.
• Monitor and approve employee work hours and attendance records.
• Evaluate warehouse layout and inventory organization to optimize space and improve efficiency.
• Oversee the sorting, labeling, and staging of materials and products.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory checks to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure all materials are properly labeled and stored in designated bin locations.
• Verify completion of forklift safety inspections and enforce safe equipment operation.
• Manage salvage and return processes for damaged or non-conforming materials.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of warehouse or storeroom experience.
AAON Forklift Certification required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong leadership and team supervision skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory systems, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications.
  or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Essential Mental and Physical Functions:

This position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The role involves physical activity and frequent interaction with warehouse staff and production teams.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Sit or stand for up to 95% of work hours.
• Occasional climbing and stooping.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with exposure to:

• Seasonal hot and cold temperatures.
• Dust, humidity, and occasional chemical fumes.
• Forklift traffic and industrial equipment.
• Noise and physical activity typical of a production facility.
