Job Title:
Finance Manager
Job Purpose:
Our client is seeking a Finance Director to lead the organisation's financial strategy and oversee all aspects of financial management. This role is responsible for optimising financial performance, managing financial resources, mitigating risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards, and contributing to the organisation's long-term financial health and growth.
Responsibilities & Skills:
- Oversee the full accounting function, including:
- General Ledger
- Fixed assets
- Creditors and debtors processes
- Taxation
- Financial reporting in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Perform and review monthly reconciliations
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and procedures
- Manage internal and external financial audits, including liaison with auditors
- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports
- Compile budgets, forecasts, and related presentations
- Manage Head Office costs and financial performance
- Oversee group company tax returns, tax reporting, and revenue authority audits
- Ensure statutory compliance across group companies
- Manage annual insurance declarations for group companies
- Prepare and oversee B-BBEE reporting requirements
- Manage the year-end close process and preparation of Annual Financial Statements for group companies
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to support business development goals and objectives
- Manage procurement processes and capital expenditure activities
- Lead, develop, and support the finance team through effective staff management
- Determine and manage the Group’s working capital requirements
- Monitor and manage the Group’s cash flow requirements
- Provide financial support to the Finance Director and Managing Director
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA(SA) qualification required
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in financial management roles
- Experience in taxation advantageous
- Industry experience in cold storage, warehousing, FMCG, or related sectors advantageous
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong leadership abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with Sage X3 or similar financial systems advantageous.
