Our client is a distinguished luxury jewellery brand with a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and premium customer experiences. They are looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to drive their human capital strategy and partner with leadership in building a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the full Human Resources function, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services while supporting the company's strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures that align with business objectives and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation.
- Partner with departmental managers and business leaders to provide strategic HR support and drive organisational effectiveness.
- Manage the full recruitment and selection process, ensuring the attraction, assessment, and retention of top talent.
- Drive the performance management process, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the business.
- Identify training and development needs and coordinate learning initiatives to enhance employee capability and organisational performance.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including disciplinary processes, grievance handling, incapacity management, and conflict resolution.
- Represent the business in CCMA matters where required and ensure all disciplinary and employee relations processes are conducted in accordance with labour legislation and company policies.
- Advise management on labour law, employment legislation, and HR best practices to minimise organisational risk and ensure compliance.
- Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employment documentation.
- Monitor workforce planning, employee engagement, and succession planning initiatives to support business growth.
- Produce HR reports and management information to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, driving operational excellence and fostering a high-performance culture across the organisation.
- Ensure the HR department delivers an efficient, compliant, and value-added service to all stakeholders.
Desired Experience & Qualification
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in employee relations, including CCMA proceedings, disciplinary hearings, and labour law.
- Proven experience in performance management and KPI implementation.
- A solid understanding of South African employment legislation and HR best practices.
- Previous experience in a retail or luxury retail environment will be highly advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management and field is required
- A minimum of 5– 8 years HR generalist experience (3 of which are at managerial level) covering the holistic HR offering, preferably in a service related or Retail environment
