Sentara is hiring a Market Development and Outreach Specialist!
This is a hybrid position.
Overview
The Market Development and Outreach Specialist plays a critical role in supporting Sentara Health Plans’ member engagement, retention, outreach, and community development efforts. This position conducts telephonic, community-based, and in-home outreach to members across the state, helping them understand their health plan benefits, access available resources, and remain actively engaged in their healthcare. Home visits are a required component of this role to support members who may benefit from direct, in-person engagement.
The Specialist serves as a liaison between members, community partners, healthcare providers, and internal departments. This role supports organizational initiatives designed to improve member satisfaction, close communication gaps, strengthen community relationships, and address barriers that may affect access to care.
Use of personal vehicle required.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
Certification/Licensure
- No specific certification or licensure requirements
Experience
- Experience working with CRM Database (Required)
- Experience in customer service, public relations, outreach and advocacy (Required)
- Must have prior experience in health plan product support.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Looking for someone with great communication skills, knowledge of social determinants of health
- Experience working in JIVA, QNXT
