Office Administrator (Temp to Perm)
Northampton
£13.46 - £15.38 per hour (depending on experience)
Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Temporary with an opportunity to be made permanent after 12 successful weeks
We are currently recruiting for an organised and proactive Office Administrator to join our client's growing team on a temp-to-perm basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous administrative experience who enjoys working in a busy office environment and takes pride in keeping operations running smoothly.
As the Office Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the office, providing administrative assistance across the business and ensuring everything operates efficiently. Following a successful temporary period, there is the opportunity to secure a permanent position with genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development within the company.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the day-to-day running of the office, ensuring administrative tasks are completed efficiently.
- Answering telephone calls, emails, and general enquiries, while providing a professional first point of contact for visitors.
- Organising meetings, appointments, staff calendars, and preparing business documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintaining accurate filing systems, company databases, and business records.
- Ordering office supplies, coordinating office maintenance, and liaising with external suppliers and service providers.
- Providing administrative support across the business, including data entry, document preparation, post handling, and onboarding new employees.
- Assisting with travel and accommodation bookings when required.
- Processing invoices, purchase orders, expenses, petty cash, and supporting payroll and finance administration.
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and communicating important business updates.
- Ensuring office procedures comply with company policies, Health & Safety requirements, and confidentiality standards.
- Identifying opportunities to improve administrative processes and support the smooth running of the office.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in an Office Administrator, Administrator, Office Assistant, or Business Support role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple responsibilities.
- A professional, friendly, and customer-focused approach.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using office management software or ERP systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
