Qnity is seeking highly motivated Manufacturing Engineers to lead and support the successful introduction of new CMP front‑end production operations at our Cheonan, Korea plant. This is a key strategic role requiring extended on‑site learning at our Taiwan facility to transfer operational knowledge and ensure a smooth and compliant startup in Korea.
The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as a technical leader supporting the deployment of new production technologies, working closely with global teams to learn, transfer, and implement operational practices. The position requires a minimum 6‑month assignment at our Taiwan plant to acquire hands-on experience with equipment, processes, and operating disciplines. Upon returning to Cheonan, this engineer will apply acquired knowledge to commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of the new production line.
Key Job Responsibilities
Participate as a core member of the capital project execution team.
Lead commissioning, pre-startup, and startup activities for the new CMP front-end plant in Cheonan.
Learn technologies and operating practices at the Taiwan plant and apply them effectively in Korea.
Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for process equipment and manufacturing operations.
Lead cross-functional teams within the organization to resolve technical and operational issues.
Diagnose root causes of process deviations and equipment performance issues.
Drive continuous improvement activities in process capability, yield, capacity, and operational reliability.
Review SPC charts and lead initiatives to reduce variation.
Track and report yield/scrap performance and drive improvement actions.
Maintain and update manufacturing SOPs and ensure alignment with best practices learned from Taiwan.
Partner with technology experts to conduct advanced troubleshooting and enhance operating discipline.
Act as technical lead during unplanned plant events and drive corrective & preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with plant operating permits and internal safety/environmental standards.
Respond promptly to plant issues, supporting urgent operational needs as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering or similar field.
Strong analytical thinking with ability to integrate equipment, process, and chemistry considerations.
Capability to communicate effectively in English for training, collaboration, and technical discussions..
Previous experience in a manufacturing or plant environment involving multiple stakeholders.
Understanding or prior experience with commissioning, pre‑startup, or startup of new manufacturing processes.
Ability to travel and stay on an extended overseas business assignment (6+ months in Taiwan).
