Data Analyst (Optimization Analyst)

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Data Analyst / Optimization Analyst to join our ever-evolving Global Strategic Optimization team and be a part of our Optimization – Payment Performance team.

What you’ll own   

• You will be a key member of a global team, helping Worldpay drive best in class for authorization acceptance and payment optimization for our largest strategic merchants in the LATAM region.
• Facilitate discussions between merchants and regional payment ecosystem participants to drive alignment on authorization optimization strategies and performance improvement initiatives.
• Stay current on regional payment trends, issuer practices, regulatory changes, and network requirements that may impact merchant authorization performance.
• Translate data insights into actionable recommendations that support merchant growth and authorization performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities: - 

Primary Focus 

• You will translate insights through data-driven storytelling and into actionable items, across internal and external stakeholders to improve authorization, authentication and routing approval rates.  

• You will conduct high-level review of data requirements, data analysis and data visualization to support internal stakeholders with performance monitoring and generate insights for highest volume merchants. 

Data-Driven Insights & Storytelling 

• Translate complex data into compelling, actionable insights using clear data storytelling techniques across internal and external stakeholders 

• Conduct high-level data analysis and visualization to monitor performance against benchmarks 

• Identify trends drive merchant authorization performance uplift strategies 

Optimization & Performance Improvement 

• Drive improvements in authorization, authentication, and routing efficiency through data-led recommendations 

• Convert analytical findings into practical, scalable solutions that deliver measurable uplifts (e.g. approval rates, revenue protection, cost reduction) 

Intake, Prioritization & Delivery 

• Support the intake of new optimization opportunities, including requirement gathering and prioritization 

• Allocate and coordinate work within the team to ensure efficient execution 

• Manage and track a pipeline of initiatives, documenting progress, recommendations, and outcomes 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Issue Resolution 

• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Technology, Data, Schemes, and Issuers to implement solutions 

• Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

What you’ll bring  

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a consulting, analytics, payments, merchant services, customer success, or optimization-focused role.
• Experience analyzing transaction, authorization, or payment performance data and delivering business recommendations to clients.
• Experience engaging directly with clients and presenting insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
• Payments industry experience preferred, including merchant acquiring, payment processing, ecommerce, fraud, risk, or authorization optimization.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction, analysis, and problem solving.
• Experience using data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Ability to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.

Language Requirements

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, issuers, and internal stakeholders across Latin America.
• Experience working with multinational clients and stakeholders across diverse cultural and business environments is preferred.
• Portuguese is a nice to have

It’s a bonus if you have  

• Experience working directly with card issuers, card networks, or acquiring institutions.
• Familiarity with regional payment market dynamics and authorization trends across Latin America.
• Experience developing optimization strategies that improve payment approval rates and merchant conversion performance.
