The ideal candidate is a hands-on application developer with strong experience in C#, .NET, Azure/Azure DevOps, and Microsoft SQL Server. This position requires someone comfortable managing and supporting SQL Server databases as part of the overall application environment; however, a traditional SQL Database Administrator (DBA) background is not required.
We are looking for a well-rounded developer who can work across the application and database environment, troubleshoot production issues, enhance existing applications, and deliver reliable solutions supporting Navy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise web applications and tools using C# and .NET.
- Support and enhance a mission-critical dashboard providing real-time connection status and operational visibility.
- Develop software enhancements, application upgrades, and new functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production application and database issues.
- Manage and support Microsoft SQL Server databases associated with enterprise applications.
- Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database-driven application functionality.
- Support database maintenance, data extraction, integration, reporting, and application data requirements.
- Assist with SQL Server performance, including query tuning, indexing, and database optimization as needed.
- Utilize Azure and Azure DevOps tools to support application development and delivery.
- Use Git and/or Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC) for source code and configuration management.
- Support automated build and release processes and CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain software configuration control, change documentation, validation records, and version control.
- Support hosted websites, enterprise account management tools, and related enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, project teams, and technical staff to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable software solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of software/application development experience, including significant hands-on experience with C# and .NET.
- Strong experience developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise or web-based applications.
- Experience with Azure and/or Azure DevOps in an application development environment.
- Experience managing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases as part of an application environment.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL Server, including queries, stored procedures, data extraction, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to support SQL database environments and resolve application/database issues; a dedicated SQL DBA background is not required.
- Experience developing, testing, deploying, and supporting application upgrades and enhancements.
- Strong production troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Git and/or Team Foundation Version Control (TFVC).
- Experience supporting automated build and release processes or CI/CD pipelines.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or higher.
- Experience supporting U.S. Navy, Department of Defense (DoD), or other Federal Government customers.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD best practices.
- Familiarity with enterprise web hosting, IIS, and Microsoft server technologies.
- Experience with SQL Server performance tuning, indexing, and optimization.
- Experience supporting enterprise account management tools, hosted websites, dashboards, or similar enterprise applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
This is an opportunity to use your development expertise to support a mission-critical application with a direct impact on U.S. Navy operations. If you're an experienced C#/.NET developer with Azure experience who is comfortable managing and supporting SQL Server databases, we'd like to hear from you.
