Portfolio Analyst, Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO)
Te tūnga | The role
This is an opportunity to help shape and mature portfolio management, business planning, business casing, and reporting practices across PHF Science.
Working within the EPMO, you will support the development and implementation of organisation-wide business planning, performance reporting, prioritisation and portfolio governance processes. Working closely with leaders across PHF Science, you will develop reporting products and insights, support governance forums, facilitate planning discussions and identify opportunities to improve visibility, alignment and decision-making across the organisation, while helping build organisational capability in planning and reporting.
This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working in a developing environment, can navigate ambiguity and turn complex information into meaningful insights that support decision-making. You will be comfortable working across a wide range of stakeholders and helping drive change through influence rather than authority.
We are open to receiving applications from across Aotearoa New Zealand, and the role can be based in either Tāmaki Makaurau, Pōneke or Ōtautahi.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working in a PMO, EPMO, portfolio management, business planning, business casing, organisational performance, strategy or similar environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical recommendations.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards or management information.
- Experience using Power BI or other business intelligence tools to develop dashboards and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to engage confidently with both operational and senior stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and relationship-building skills.
- A pragmatic approach, with a focus on delivering practical solutions that add value.
- Understanding of project, programme or portfolio management principles and practices.
Experience working in government, research, science or other complex stakeholder environments.
The following would be advantageous:
Experience developing business planning, prioritisation or reporting frameworks.
Experience supporting governance groups, committees or decision-making forums.
