• Our Investments business is a specialist asset manager that focuses on areas where we have both strength and scale to capitalise on the key themes shaping the market, through either public markets or alternative asset classes.

About the Department 

The Digital Engineering team develops and supports the digital platforms, services and integrations that power Aberdeen’s client experiences. Working across modern web technologies, cloud services and enterprise platforms, the team enables secure, scalable and reliable digital journeys. Collaboration, continuous improvement and high engineering standards are central to how the team works, helping our clients to be better investors. 

About the Role 

Based in Edinburgh, this permanent role offers the opportunity to work across front-end applications, back-end services, cloud infrastructure and enterprise integrations. You will develop, deliver and support digital solutions that provide exceptional client experiences while building your skills across a broad technology stack. Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, UX specialists and business stakeholders, you will solve technical challenges, contribute to engineering excellence and help shape modern digital services. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your expertise in cloud technologies, automation, testing and digital engineering while investing in your tomorrow. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and support digital applications, APIs, services and integrations across Aberdeen’s digital estate, delivering secure and scalable solutions. 

• Build and support cloud-hosted applications within Microsoft Azure while maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment processes. 

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, UX teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences and business outcomes. 

• Monitor live services, investigate incidents, resolve issues and contribute to improvements that reduce recurring problems. 

• Produce technical documentation, participate in code reviews and help improve engineering standards, tooling and ways of working. 

• Develop and maintain automated tests using Playwright and integrate quality checks into CI/CD pipelines. 

About the Candidate 

• Experience developing and supporting production digital applications using modern engineering practices. 

• Experience building REST APIs or back-end services, ideally using C# and .NET. 

• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Git, GitHub and CI/CD automation. 

• Experience creating and maintaining automated tests using Playwright or similar frameworks. 

• Strong problem-solving skills with an understanding of security, compliance and agile delivery practices. 

• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly, collaborate effectively and learn new technologies. 

Desirable criteria: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Terraform, Sitecore XM Cloud, Vercel, Storybook, GraphQL, CodeQL, SonarQube, SEO and performance optimisation, and experience working with enterprise-scale digital platforms.
