Position Summary:
IEM is currently seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for our Jacksonville, FL and will report into the Materials Manager.
This role plans, organizes, and oversees the shipping and receiving of parts and supplies used to assemble switchgear and related electrical equipment. The Warehouse Supervisor maintains accurate inventory through cycle counts and the annual physical inventory, and prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required.
Please note: This position requires 100% in-office presence in our Jacksonville, FL offices and does not offer remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate work, and train, motivate, and monitor the team members who verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment
- Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to set shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods needed to meet shipping and receiving schedules, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Oversee incoming and outgoing receiving and shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments as well as inventory accuracy
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Inspect material handling equipment for defects and coordinate repairs
- Direct movement of shipments from the shipping and receiving area to storage work areas
- Assist team members with shipping and receiving activities as needed
- Adhere to established safety guidelines
- Directly supervise the Material Control Attendant
- The candidate will be expected to perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within an industrial manufacturing environment, including 2 years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated competencies in technical capability, leadership, ethical conduct, performance management, communication, teamwork, and financial management
- Demonstrated career ambition with a track record of growth and increasing responsibility; highly promotable with the potential to take on broader leadership roles within a fast-paced, high-growth organization
Physical Requirements:
This role is physically active, requiring standing and walking for about 75% of the shift and sitting for the remainder. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a continuous basis, and to bend, squat, and climb as needed. The role also requires extended close work on a computer screen and the ability to see small or detailed items, along with the ability to interpret information and manage multiple tasks at once. Work takes place in both a climate-controlled office and a shop or warehouse area that is not climate-controlled, with exposure to heat, cold, moisture, noise, dust, and fumes.
Compensation actually offered for this role will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
