Description
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial data used for decision-making purposes.
- Prepare monthly reporting of key financial metrics and performance indicators and communicate financial results and trends to CFO and stakeholders.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Analyze and interpret financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Build and maintain complex financial models to support strategic decision-making. Assess the financial impact of various scenarios and strategies. Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis to evaluate potential outcomes.
- Year-end closing for 15 locations: reviewing, reconciling, and verifying all financial transactions and aspects of company records (ie, Inventory, Payroll, Assets, etc).
- Building and maintaining annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Collaborate with CFO to gather relevant data and input. Monitor budget variances and provide explanations and recommendations.
- Perform evaluations of projects, programs, or investments by assessing their potential costs and benefits. Analyze financial data, market expectations, and other relevant information to quantify the anticipated returns and assess financial impacts of proposed initiatives.
- Provide support in cost optimization efforts by identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Provide cost analysis for specific projects and initiatives.
- Collaborate with project managers to track project costs, monitor budget utilization, and expected financial performance compared to plans.
- Prepare, verify, and process store employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, bonuses, commission, vacation pay, remittances and accruals.
- Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, ROEs and T4s.
- Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis (ie, Corporate Tax, GST/HST, Payroll Deductions, Duties & Customs
- Act as liaison with external auditors on inventory related matters as required during financial statement audits.
- Monitor product, customer, and model margins – highlighting discrepancies and suggesting corrective actions.
- Maintain and update cost allocation methodologies and procedures to ensure accurate and effective distribution of cost centers across business segments. Report shared service costs to segmental business partners and explain drivers of change in allocations.
- Review all credit card charges on a weekly basis.
- Investment & USD Funds Management
- Assist in the development of internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Development and maintenance of Excel programs.
- Investigate and resolve the discrepancies resulting from internal processes and/or technical issues.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management. Assist in special projects related to financial performance and strategy.
