PURPOSE:
This role supports the execution of pladis NA’s category and commercial strategies, translating brand priorities into actionable channel and customer plans that drive profitable growth.
The Senior Manager Commercial Strategy develops insight-led selling stories, analyzes business performance, identifies opportunities to drive profitable growth, and translates insights into actionable commercial recommendations.
This role partners cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Planning, Category Management and Global teams to deliver strong in-market execution, support key commercial priorities, and ensure innovation and commercial strategies are successfully translated into customer execution plans.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
Commercial Strategy
Support commercialization of brand strategies into channel and customer-specific plans aligned to segmentation priorities.
Support the integration of innovation into customer and channel plans, ensuring alignment with commercial and regional priorities while supporting innovation volume validation and commercialization planning.
Develop insight-led selling stories using syndicated data, shopper insights, category trends, and competitive intelligence.
Analyze business performance across distribution, velocity, pricing, promotion, and assortment to identify growth opportunities and commercial risks.
Translate data into clear, actionable recommendations that improve in-market execution and support commercial decision-making.
Manage and continuously enhance weekly and monthly commercial performance reporting, leveraging key KPIs and business insights to identify trends, support business decision-making, and drive continuous improvement.
Monitor competitive activity, category trends, and customer dynamics to identify whitespace opportunities and inform go-to-market strategies.
Partner with Commercial Marketing to prioritize customer-specific opportunities and activation strategies aligned with commercial objectives.
Serve as the commercial strategy representative for Sweets & Snacks Expo, coordinating commercial priorities and partnering with Sales and Marketing to support customer engagement and commercialization initiatives.
Price Pack Architecture Support
Support pricing and pack architecture analysis to ensure competitiveness across channels and customers.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support pricing and pack architecture decisions.
Monitor everyday retail pricing trends, price tiers, and competitive positioning to identify opportunities and maintain marketplace competitiveness.
Partner with Commercial Marketing to identify customer and channel-specific pack architecture opportunities, recommending optimal assortment and pack configurations aligned with shopper needs, commercial strategy, and customer priorities.
Sales Planning Support
Assess competitive promotional activity by channel and pack type to identify market gaps and opportunities
Identify and assess key drivers of performance vs plan and provide actionable recommendations to improve results
Support innovation forecasting with data inputs and assumptions
Partner with Sales and Planning to monitor business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support commercial decision-making
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
5+ years of experience in CPG, preferably in Category Management, Sales Analytics, Commercial Strategy, or a related field
Experience supporting commercialization of innovation and go-to-market strategies across channels and customers.
Experience leveraging syndicated data (e.g. Circana/Nielsen) and shopper insights to develop commercial recommendations
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights
Experience developing insight-led selling stories and customer-facing commercial materials using data, shopper insights, and category trends
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across Sales, Marketing, Planning, and Commercial functions
Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Category Management, Sales Analytics, Commercial Strategy or related field; advanced degree preferred.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Base starting salary ranges from $150,000 - $180,000 per year. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive opportunity, awarded based on individual and company performance.
