As the Senior Director, FP&A (Commercial Business Partner) at Mambu, you will be a pivotal leader in shaping our strategic financial direction, directly contributing to shareholder value and Mambu's competitive advantage. This role requires a visionary leader who can grasp the complexity of our business, lead long-term financial modeling, and align strategy with ARR expansion and SaaS business model economics. You will serve as the primary strategic partner to commercial and executive leadership, driving revenue optimization, deal desk governance, and operational efficiency across the organization.

 

What you’ll do

• Strategic Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead Mambu’s long-range financial roadmap, annual budgeting process, rolling quarterly re-forecasts, and multi-year projections, accurately modeling capacity planning, sales productivity, and retention. Chair monthly forecasting and guidance sessions to ensure aligned financial plans.
• Commercial Business Partnership: Serve as the primary strategic business partner to Commercial Leaders, Sales Executives, Marketing, Customer Success, CRO, CTPO, and CCSO. Drive deal desk governance, revenue optimization, and GTM strategy while providing reporting and ad-hoc analysis to enhance strategic decision confidence.
• SaaS Metrics & Commercial Financial Analysis: Deliver actionable insights on core metrics (ARR, NRR, LTV, Net Churn, and Gross Margin). Evaluate pricing strategies, go-to-market performance, and unit economics to drive profitable growth.
• Revenue & Cost Certifications: Own management accounting, variance analysis, and finance certification of key contract balances, including Revenue under Contract (RuC/ARR, revenue waterfalls) and Costs under Contract (CuC variable and fixed spend).
• Executive & Board Reporting: Oversee the preparation and delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages and presentations for executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and investors.
• Advanced Analytics & AI Foresight: Utilize predictive analytics, cohort analysis, scenario modeling, and AI tools to generate actionable insights and provide foresight on pipeline conversion, customer lifetime value, and expansion opportunities.
• OpEx & Performance Management: Establish key commercial KPIs, monitor business unit performance, manage operating expenses, and optimize cost structures to ensure revenues, headcount, and costs land in line with Guidance.
• Risk Management & Governance: Proactively identify and manage financial risks across commercial agreements, ensuring internal controls, deal compliance, and corporate policy alignment.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing FP&A and business partnering team, fostering a culture of operational excellence, analytical rigor, and continuous development.

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years of experience in senior financial leadership roles, with at least five years at a Senior Manager level or equivalent, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS or technology environment.
• Demonstrated ability to set strategic direction, drive organizational change, and execute long-term financial modeling aligned with SaaS economics.
• Proven expertise leveraging data, advanced predictive analytics, cohort analysis, and AI to guide strategic decision-making.
• Essential hands-on experience in the administration of Planful or similar corporate FP&A software.
• Exceptional storytelling, persuasion, and communication skills, with proven ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and investors.
• Deep experience in deal desk governance, commercial strategy, pricing evaluation, and managing revenue/cost under contract.
• Track record of building, inspiring, and leading high-performing FP&A teams, including experience managing remote or distributed teams.
