Overview:

Summer Interns complete a 10 week internship centered around professional development, career growth and building the necessary skills to succeed.  Summer Interns participate in projects and department initiatives that accelerate career growth and play an important role in building the future of the Bank.  As an Intern, you will gain exposure to other departments through guest speakers and industry leaders and a built-in network with peers as well as priority consideration for full time opportunities throughout the Bank.

2027 summer intern program at Wilmington Trust in Radnor, PA will work closely with all integrated team members including senior client-facing advisors and professionals holding CFP®, CFA® and legal designations.  In addition to significant mentorship opportunities, interns will have exposure to all facets of the wealth management industry, including discretionary investment management, credit, private banking, trust servicing and wealth advisory (trust & estate planning).  The intern program includes apprentice-style learning with a particular emphasis on weekly roundtable discussions which cover a wide variety of relevant, real-world topics (e.g., capital markets, economics, investments, financial planning and numerous case studies from existing clients).  The Radnor team employs a collaborative approach to learning and working and is seeking rising college seniors majoring in finance and/or economics with a career interest in wealth management.  Successful completion of the internship may result in consideration for M&T Bank/Wilmington Trust’s management development program (MDP).  Prior wealth management experience is not required.  Interested candidates should apply to Wilmington Trust recruiting for consideration.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete duties and responsibilities of an entry-level professional nature specific to assigned area of the Bank.
• Ensure activities adhere to established internal policies and external regulations as applicable. 
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.  Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0

The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations.
