The Opportunity:

As a data engineer, you know that organizing data can yield pivotal insights when it’s gathered from disparate sources. We need a data professional like you to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions from fraud detection to cancer research, to national intelligence. 

As a data engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use your skills to deliver an advanced visual application to include developing data analytics for desktop and web-developed visual analytic software. You'll facilitate the bulk analysis of relational information utilizing advanced graphics, visualization, and high-performance computing, as well as using the specified open source, COTS, and GOTS technologies. You will establish an application that produces manageable, actionable intelligence from streams of a structured and semi-structured data technology solutions for some of the most mission-driven projects in the industry.

You Have:   

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and operationalizing enterprise‑scale data applications and pipelines 

• 5+ years of experience building scalable ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, NiFi, COTS, and GOTS applications 

• 5+ years of experience automating batch and streaming workflows, including retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data 

• Experience with schema-aligned ingestion, data normalization, provenance, and end‑to‑end lineage tracking 

• Experience with data-layer security models, ABAC, RBAC, governance practices, and record lineage 

• Experience with multiple database types, including SQL, NoSQL, graph, or vector databases 

• Experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch 

• Experience with containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes for hybrid, on-prem, or multi-enclave operations 
• Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience with data engineering concepts, including data collection, storage, processing, cleaning, or transforming or 12+ years of experience with data engineering concepts, including data collection, storage, processing, cleaning, or transforming in lieu of degree 

Nice If You Have:   

• Experience with data engineering projects supporting event‑driven systems, software development, or AI/ML implementations 

• Experience working with distributed event‑messaging frameworks such as Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ 

• Experience with API development 

• Experience with Agile development methodologies 

• AWS Cloud Certifications 

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
