Summary:

As an Operations Engineer, your typical day involves overseeing the smooth functioning of production systems and services. You will be engaged in monitoring operational requirements and ensuring that service agreements are consistently met. Your role includes managing the delivery of these systems, addressing any issues that arise, and coordinating with various teams to maintain system reliability and performance. You will play a key part in sustaining operational excellence and supporting the infrastructure that underpins critical business functions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement medium to high-risk changes on high profile production MS SQL

- Analyze and assess the impact and risk of low to medium risk changes on high profile production databases.

- Resolve difficult/complex incidents affecting the operation/availability of high-profile production databases.

- Create and review technical system recovery plans

- Help to identify and plan RCA implementation.

- Make pro-active suggestions for service improvements.

- Knowledge on cross DB platforms like Sybase, MySQL.

- Prepare Runbooks as needed and review all SOPs.

- Automate the manual tasks and recurring incidents.

- Adhere to SLAs.

Technical Experience:

- 4-6 Years of database administration on distributed platforms.

- Setup/Configuration/Support/ Upgrade of SQL server 2012,2014,2016,2017,2019 (Standalone, SQL failover cluster, always -on etc.) and MS Azure.

- Must have extensive experience to support large size, high volume, and critical SQL server environments.

- Proficient in Database installation, setup, upgrade, and space management procedures.

- Implementing and configuring DR solutions like always On, Replication, log shipping, mirroring.

- Experience installing, Maintaining SQL server in a windows environment.

- Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL server CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resources contention related issues.

- Understanding of SQL server encryption options like TDE.

- Good experience with backups, restores and recovery models.

- Good experience of high availability (HA) and Disaster recovery (DR) options for SQL server.

- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

- Good time-management skills, Great interpersonal and communications skills

- Good experience with PowerShell scripting.

- Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision

- Flexible to work in 24/7 shift

- Must be a team player

- Must be capable to upscale and take initiative to deliver the task independently.

Educational Qualifications:

- Bachelor s degree

- ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certified

- Preferred to have MCSA certification.

- Preferred to have knowledge/certification on any Cloud Technologies.

Shift Details:

- 24*7 shift

- RTO- 3 days office presence

Additional Information:

- The candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server.

- This position is based at our Pune office.

- A 15 years full time education is required.
