Role Overview

The Finance Manager will oversee both the accounting and financial operations (FinOps) functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial activities. The role combines operational finance supervision with strategic support — managing reconciliations, settlements, and reporting while generating insights, budgets, and forecasts that support decision-making.

This person will act as the first line of leadership within the finance team, guiding the Senior Accountant and FinOps Analyst to ensure data integrity, timely reporting, and smooth execution of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Control & Supervision

• Oversee the daily operations of the Accounting and FinOps functions.
• Review reconciliations of banks, wallets, and service providers to ensure zero discrepancies.
• Supervise settlements, collections, payables, and receivables across multiple partners.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closings, with complete and accurate ledgers.
• Review and approve journal entries, invoices, and reconciliation reports.
• Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors, and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and successful audits.

2. Financial Reporting & Insights

• Prepare and review management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct variance analysis versus budget and highlight operational insights for management.
• Monitor key financial metrics (revenues, costs, margins, liquidity) and flag risks or inefficiencies.
• Build financial dashboards to track performance trends and support data-driven decision-making.

3. Budgeting & Planning

• Lead the annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting cycles.
• Maintain and update company model
• Collaborate with business teams to align budgets with operational plans.
• Support strategic decision-making through scenario analysis and sensitivity testing.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

4. Process Optimization & Team Leadership

• Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures for finance processes.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Mentor and develop the FinOps Analyst and Senior Accountant to improve accuracy, efficiency, and ownership.
• Work cross-functionally with operations, commercial, and product teams to align financial workflows.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, or FP&A, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and solid ERP/system proficiency.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in fintech, payments, or high-growth startups is a big plus.
• Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or FMVA) preferred.
