Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Bank Reconciliations, and Credit Card Reconciliations
- Monitor and review job costing, project budgets, profitability, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports
- Prepare monthly forecasts, profitability studies, expense analyses, and financial reports for management
- Manage accounts receivable collections and ensure timely customer billing, including AIA billing and requisitions
- Review and maintain accurate accounting of project change orders, contracts, lien waivers, bonds, and insurance requirements
- Work closely with Project Managers and Purchasing to review budgets, estimates, and project costs
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements
- Coordinate with outside accountants and auditors as necessary
- Oversee payroll processes and coordinate time transfers between ExakTime, Sage, and iSolved
- Manage and optimize financial systems, including Sage 100 Contractor
- Improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, and internal workflows
- Develop and maintain Finance Department Standard Operating Procedures
- Oversee implementation and monitoring of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) programs
- Manage, train, mentor, and develop accounting personnel, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll staff
- Partner with ownership and management to support company objectives and cost-improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned by the President and CFO
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting, finance, or construction accounting experience
- Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proven ability to manage, train, and develop employees
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software
- Experience with Sage 100 Contractor preferred
- Experience in construction, plumbing, HVAC, or other skilled trades preferred
- Demonstrated record of improving financial performance and operational efficiency
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
$90,000 – $110,000
