Overview
AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Risk Manager, in Riyadh, KSA.
The Risk Manager will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining effective project risk management processes across major roads, highways, bridges, and associated infrastructure projects. Working within a PMC environment, the role will support project delivery teams and clients in identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery of program objectives related to cost, schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder requirements.
Your role
Risk Management
Develop and implement project risk management frameworks, methodologies, and procedures in line with international best practices.
Lead risk identification workshops with project stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
Establish and maintain project and program risk registers.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments for infrastructure projects.
Evaluate project risks related to design, construction, procurement, permitting, utilities, traffic management, environmental constraints, and stakeholder interfaces.
Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to reduce project exposure.
Monitor emerging risks and opportunities and recommend proactive actions.
Quantitative Risk Analysis & Monte Carlo Simulation
Lead quantitative risk assessments (QRA) for major infrastructure projects.
Develop and maintain risk-adjusted schedules and cost models.
Perform Monte Carlo simulations to assess schedule and cost uncertainty.
Analyze confidence levels (P50, P80, P90) for project completion dates and budget forecasts.
Identify critical risk drivers affecting project outcomes and provide recommendations to reduce exposure.
Support contingency planning through probabilistic forecasting and scenario analysis.
Produce Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) and Cost Risk Analysis (CRA) reports for executive management and clients.
Interpret simulation outputs and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Project Controls & Reporting
Integrate risk management activities with project controls, planning, scheduling, and cost management functions.
Support schedule risk analysis and cost risk assessments.
Prepare risk dashboards, reports, and presentations for project leadership and client teams.
Provide regular updates on key project risks, trends, and mitigation effectiveness.
Track risk action owners and ensure timely closure of mitigation measures.
Stakeholder Management
Facilitate risk review meetings with project teams and external stakeholders.
Engage with client representatives to ensure risk management objectives are achieved.
Coordinate with engineering, commercial, construction, HSE, and contract management teams to assess project risks comprehensively.
Support senior management in strategic decision-making through risk-based analysis.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure compliance with client requirements, project governance frameworks, and contractual obligations.
Promote a risk-aware culture across the project organization.
Participate in project audits and assurance reviews.
Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
Minimum 20 years of experience in project controls, risk management, or project management.
At least 10 years of experience in a dedicated risk management role.
Proven experience working within a PMC or engineering consultancy environment.
Demonstrated experience on large-scale roads, highways, bridges, and transportation infrastructure projects.
Proven experience conducting Monte Carlo simulations and quantitative risk assessments on major capital projects.
Experience supporting government authorities, transport agencies, and large-scale infrastructure programs in the Middle East is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of: Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Monte Carlo Simulation, Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA), Cost Risk Analysis (CRA), Confidence Level Forecasting (P50/P80/P90), Earned Value Management (EVM)
