The Opportunity:
CACI has an amazing opportunity for a CAD Operator to be located in High Point, NC. As the selected candidate, you will focus on providing detailed CAD drawings for telecommunication installation efforts including inside and outside plant infrastructure installations. As the selected CAD operator, responsibilities include understanding written and verbal instructions, drafting technical drawings and blueprints, implementing feedback from engineers and technicians, visiting sites, keeping up-to-date with CAD software, and working long hours to meet deadlines.
To be successful as a CAD operator, you should be able to understand complex calculations and have sound knowledge of drawing standards. Outstanding CAD operators are disciplined, open to collaboration, and also possess manual drawing skills.
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting project briefs and meeting with clients, engineers, and technicians to ensure all technical drawings are completed to specifications.
- Producing rough sketches and using CAD software to prepare detailed drawings, plans, and prints.
- Visiting sites to gather information.
- Updating software, drawings, and other documents.
- Ensuring drawings are compliant with engineering standards.
- Be accountable for the maintenance of the CAD drawing library.
- Communicating potential design issues to engineers and technicians.
- Conducting research when required.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate's degree in drafting or other related discipline and 1-3 years of related experience or a combination of skills, education, and experience.
- Practical experience with AutoCAD software.
Knowledge of engineering and construction. - Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Superb work ethic and ability to accept feedback.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required (Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
- Extremely detailed oriented.
Desired:
- BA / BS degree in engineering, civil/mechanical engineering or other related discipline and 1-3 years of related experience or a combination of skills, education, and experience.
- Experience using Autodesk Vault and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Working knowledge or experience with the standards set forth in the USAISEC Drafting guidelines to ensure compliance of all documentation.
