Description

Overview

Parts Authority was formed in 1997 by the merger of four companies, that date back to 1973, that had common ownership and had the vision of creating a better vehicle for the wholesale distribution of automotive and truck parts. Parts Authority has become one of the country's largest distributors of automotive and truck parts. The company is headquartered in Long Island, New York and operates distribution centers in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Maryland, Georgia, Arizona, California and Ohio. Parts Authority has been expanding rapidly and now has over 90 locations in eight states with future expansions in the horizon. As a privately owned company Parts Authority does not answer to Wall Street, Parts Authority answers only to customers. Each and every team member plays a vital role in our success. We are rapidly expanding and looking for a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Director of Corporate Finance.

We are seeking a Director of Corporate Finance to lead financial planning, capital structure management, and stakeholder reporting for our private equity-backed company. This role partners closely with the CFO, the sponsor's deal team, and the board to drive the value creation plan, manage lender and investor relationships, and position the business for continued growth and a successful exit. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, metrics-driven private equity environment and can move fluidly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company's financial planning and analysis, including annual budgets, long-range plans, and monthly/quarterly forecasts aligned to the sponsor's value creation plan
  • Prepare and present board and sponsor reporting packages, including KPI dashboards, covenant compliance analysis, and variance commentary
  • Manage lender relationships, including covenant tracking, compliance certificates, and periodic reporting required under credit agreements
  • Partner with the CFO and sponsor deal team on capital structure decisions, including debt refinancing, add-on acquisitions, and dividend recapitalizations
  • Lead financial due diligence and integration planning for M&A transactions, including post-close synergy tracking
  • Own cash flow forecasting and working capital management to optimize liquidity across the business
  • Develop and track value creation plans (VCPs) to drive long-term EBITDA improvement
  • Support the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors, lenders, and sponsor finance teams
  • Drive process improvements and build scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid growth and exit readiness
  • Build financial models supporting scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and strategic decision-making for the executive team

Qualifications

  • 8-12 years of progressive finance experience, including experience in a private equity-backed or PE portfolio company environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or corporate development strongly preferred
  • Deep understanding of credit agreements, covenant compliance, and lender reporting requirements
  • Strong track record building board-ready materials and presenting to sponsors, lenders, or boards of directors
  • Advanced financial modeling skills, including LBO, M&A, and scenario modeling
  • Experience with add-on acquisitions, integration planning, and post-merger synergy tracking
  • Proven ability to operate with high ownership in a lean, fast-moving finance organization
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills (Planful, PowerBI, Power Query, Tableau, SQL) preferred
