Accountant

Our brand, Lennor Metier Consulting, a DOLE-licensed headhunting and recruitment agency in the Philippines, is proud to partner with a local start up in finance and credit-risk focusing on the education sector in their search for an Accountant based in Makati City.

 

Salary Range: ₱25,000 - ₱30,000

Work Setup: Hybrid 

Shift Schedule: Day Shift

Location: Makati City

 

The role

The Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s financial records and compliance obligations. This role covers end-to-end financial operations, including daily bookkeeping, transaction processing, tax compliance, government-mandated remittances, and financial statement preparation.

1. Bookkeeping & Financial Reporting

• Perform daily bookkeeping and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Prepare monthly and consolidated financial statements
• Develop and maintain monthly management reports to support business decision-making

2. Reconciliations & Internal Controls

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
• Identify, investigate, and escalate discrepancies, risks, or financial red flags in a timely manner
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and data integrity

3. Regulatory Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare annual compliance reports such as LCIF and LCFS submissions
• Support external audit requirements by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of required regulatory reports

4. Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns in compliance with BIR regulations
• Prepare Documentary Stamp Tax (DST) returns as needed
• Ensure timely remittance of all tax obligations and compliance with applicable tax laws

5. Process Improvement & Other Duties

• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through automation and workflow improvements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting and operational efficiency
• Perform other finance and accounting-related tasks as may be assigned

 

What we're looking for:

•  Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or any related fields.
• At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and end-to-end accounting operations with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
• Experience in month-end and year-end close processes and financial statement preparation
• Experience in implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency or controls
• Strong knowledge of PFRS, BIR tax regulations, and statutory compliance requirements
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (e.g., Zoho Books or similar ERP platforms)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations, reporting) and Google Workspace
• Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment is an advantage
