Job Description
- Exhibits the highest professional standards and ethical behavior regarding adherence to NCAA, Southland Conference, University and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
- Manages and directs the administration of all day-to-day practice and competition activities related to the group assigned by the Head Coach. 30%
- Assists Head Coach with the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. 30%
- Assists the Head Coach in the management of funds by providing input for development of the annual Athletics Department budget. 5%
- Supports established athletic fund-raising goals by actively participating in fund-raising events and promotional activities for intercollegiate athletics and the cross country/track and field teams. 5%
- Assists with all travel arrangements, coordinating meet entries, and itinerary development for all team cross country and track meets. 10%
- Assists with the coordination and organization of any home cross country or track meets, including securing officials and volunteers for events. 5%
- Collaborate with Head Coach on meet-day coaching strategy for individual and relay student-athletes. 5%
- Assist Head Coach with inventory, ordering and distribution of equipment and supplies for teams annually. 10%
- Schedule facilities for practice and competition when needed.
- May represent the Head Coach upon request at LSU New Orleans, NCAA, Conference select events.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Administration.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a high school, college, professional coach or a member of a college coaching staff (may include GA or volunteer coach position experience).
- Knowledge of and commitment to NCAA compliance policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to develop, establish, and sustain relationships with student-athletes, coaches, administration, and various constituents.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and proven ability to recruit prospective student-athletes.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree.
- 2-4 years of Division I college coaching experience
