We're currently seeking an experienced Business Manager, Risk Management to join our Sydney-based Risk Division. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager & Risk Champion (RBM), this newly created role will support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Risk Leadership Team in executing the Australian business and risk management strategy.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of the Risk function, providing critical insights, governance support and strategic coordination across one of the Bank's most important leadership portfolios.

About the role

As Business Manager, Risk Management, you will play a key role in supporting the effective operation of the Risk Division by delivering high-quality reporting, analysis, governance coordination and business management support.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders to provide assurance, insights and early warning on key risk matters, while helping drive the execution of strategic initiatives and regulatory priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the CRO and RBM in delivering the Risk Management Strategy across Australia.
• Coordinating the preparation of Board papers, executive presentations and key governance materials.
• Tracking and reporting on strategic actions, risk initiatives and leadership priorities.
• Providing insightful analysis on Risk Division performance, trends and emerging issues.
• Assisting in the development of KPI and KRI reporting and management information.
• Supporting risk governance and control activities, including operational risk assessments, reporting and remediation tracking.
• Coordinating approvals and ensuring decisions progress through appropriate governance channels.
• Managing staff engagement initiatives and supporting continuous improvement activities.
• Building strong relationships across Risk, business divisions and key stakeholders locally and globally.

What you'll bring

To be successful in this role, you will combine strong business management capabilities with a solid understanding of risk management within a banking environment.

You'll have:

• 5-7 years' experience within financial services or banking, ideally supporting Risk, Governance or Executive functions.
• Exposure to risk disciplines such as Credit, Operational or Market Risk.
• Strong understanding of risk governance frameworks and regulatory environments.
• Experience preparing executive-level reporting, presentations and Board papers.
• Advanced stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
• Strong analytical capability and the ability to turn data into meaningful insights.
• Experience using Archer, Excel and Power BI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Finance, Economics or Accounting will be highly regarded.
