About the role
We're on the lookout for a Senior Advisor - Market Risk as part of operationalizing and building out the Market Risk Management Framework for Rio Tinto Commercial. The role will work very closely with the Sales & Marketing, Digital and Finance teams.
Reporting to the Manager - Market Risk, you will:
Perform detailed data analytics to identify and explain risks and P&L drivers.
Create and report daily mark-to-market based P&L.
Support implementation of Risk Management Framework around VAR and Stress Test and other analysis applications.
Work closely with Trading & Sales and Finance teams to report and analyses performance, trading risk positions and Value at Risk on a daily/weekly basis.
Support due diligence, review and implementation on new transactions and/or trading activities.
Continuous improvement / streamlining of the reporting processes.
Active communication with the rest of Market Risk team in Singapore office.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or equivalent.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in physical commodity trading and risk management.
Good understanding of VAR methodologies and risk measurement.
Experience of programming/database languages in Python / VBA / SQL / R.
Good understanding of Product Control and Risk Reporting.
Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
Contribute to the creation of trading performance analysis and implement/ operationalize this.
Be part of transformation efforts to establish certain middle office processes, including with trading, as well as policies, procedures and support the build out the market risk management framework for commercial.
