Job Purpose
Develop, implement, and manage technical product information for electrical wire harnesses, ensuring customer requirements are accurately translated into manufacturing processes. Manage technical documentation, Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN), and product configuration within Oracle ERP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), ensuring data integrity and compliance with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Analyze customer technical requirements and product specifications.
· Develop and maintain product structures (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and product configurations in Oracle ERP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
· Coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from quotation through mass production.
· Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO), ensuring timely and accurate implementation.
· Prepare and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, engineering drawings, and product specifications.
· Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Planning, Production, and Supply Chain departments to ensure successful product launches.
· Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize quality, cost, and productivity.
· Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and production launches.
· Maintain accurate product master data in Oracle ERP and D365.
· Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to product design or manufacturing issues.
· Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal standards, and automotive industry regulations.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
· 3–5 years of experience as a Product Engineer in the automotive industry or wire harness manufacturing.
· Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI).
· Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
· Experience with Engineering Change Management (ECO/ECN).
· Knowledge of wire harness manufacturing processes.
Technical Knowledge
· Oracle ERP (Item Master, BOM, Routings, and Engineering Change Management).
· Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
· Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
· Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
· AIAG Core Tools.
· Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
· Advanced Microsoft Excel.
· KPI development and performance monitoring.
