Job Description

The AI Software Engineering Co-op role involves working on software development projects within AI. This co-op provides hands-on experience developing AI-powered solutions that enhance software quality, security, delivery velocity, and engineering efficiency.

You will collaborate with experienced software engineers, AI champions, architects, and engineering leaders while contributing to real-world projects that support enterprise-scale industrial automation software development. You will be assigned a dedicated mentor to guide you through your experience and participate in networking events and company activities.

This role is on a hybrid schedule working in Milwaukee, WI or Mayfield Heights, OH.

This role is full-time and is ONLY June-August 2027.

Your Responsibilities:

• You'll work with development teams, gaining hands-on experience in software development environments and using development techniques.
• You will have exposure to the full development life cycle, agile methodology, system design, test-driven development, test automation, and build and configuration management.
• Build software applications, services, and integrations using modern software engineering practices and AI technologies.
  

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduating in December 2027 or later
• Interest in continuous innovation and improvement in software development
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Angular/Node, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript (Typescript), Kotlin, Go, or Python.
• Familiarity with Generative AI tools, LLMs, AI agents, machine learning concepts, or prompt engineering is a plus.
• Some experience in Angular, React, and modern web application frameworks
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI Services, and cloud-native technologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, and test automation frameworks
• Experience in industrial automation software, PLC development, and manufacturing technologies

For this role, the hourly compensation for this role is $20-32. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
