Position Purpose
In this position, the Manager Finance – Supply Chain will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis to the Supply Chain organization. This role will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and working closely with the Director of Finance and Supply Chain leadership team to achieve business goals and create shareholder value through the planning process.
This position will be responsible for developing financial planning, reporting, financial analytics, profit and loss management, capital investment analysis, inventory and working capital management processes while leading a team of professionals. The role will serve as a trusted finance partner to Supply Chain leaders, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Strategic Analysis / Problem Solving
Develop a deep understanding of the Supply Chain business and identify opportunities for process improvements, productivity gains, and cost optimization.
Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support Supply Chain initiatives and long-term business objectives.
Lead the annual budget, forecast, and strategic planning processes for the Supply Chain function.
Review monthly expenditures and ensure budgetary goals are achieved.
Financial Leadership
Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes and maintain strong accounting controls.
Drive key financial and operational metrics to ensure productivity and profit objectives are achieved.
Monitor and analyze Supply Chain costs, including transportation, distribution, labor, occupancy, and inventory-related expenses.
Develop financial models, business cases, and investment analyses for Supply Chain projects and network initiatives.
Partner with business leaders to identify risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.
Business Partnership & Project Management
Build strong strategic partnerships with Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, Technology, and Finance teams.
Participate in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage.
Support distribution center, transportation, inventory, fulfillment, and network optimization initiatives through financial analysis and decision support.
Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment across business functions.
Team Leadership
Lead, plan, and coordinate work teams in an efficient manner to perform financial functions and activities.
Utilize metrics to track performance and manage workload.
Ensure operational processes and procedures are compliant with established policies and controls.
Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports.
Reporting & Analytics
Forecast expenditures, capital requirements, and productivity savings and communicate results to leadership.
Provide financial reporting, inventory analysis, working capital management, and return-on-investment assessments.
Deliver actionable insights through data analytics and performance reporting.
Nature and Scope
Reports to the Director, Finance.
Accountable for direct and indirect supervision of the work activities of others.
Responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing the work of team members.
Makes recommendations concerning hiring, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
Operates as a key strategic finance partner to Supply Chain leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional designation will be considered as an asset.
Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, accounting principles, and business performance management.
Experience supporting Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics, Transportation, Inventory Management, or Operations functions.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
Excellent leadership and people management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
