Description

- General Building & Facility Maintenance: Executes routine repairs and preventive maintenance on building equipment. Implements, maintains, and efficiently utilizes preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan, recommending operational improvements as needed. Responds to emergency maintenance tasks using appropriate tools and resources.
- Contractor & Project Coordination: Monitors and coordinates with facility contractors involved in the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of building systems and support equipment.
- Safety & Equipment Operation: Operates a range of machinery, from power tools and pickup trucks to tractors or small dump trucks while adhering to safety policies and guidelines.
- Management Reporting: Monitors overall building and facility conditions across municipal properties, proactively identifying major issues or hazards. Promptly notifies department or division heads of critical facility problems, equipment failures, or unsafe conditions to facilitate timely correction or reporting.
- High school diploma or GED required (some college is a plus).
- 2-3 years of experience in construction or mechanical services (municipal experience is a plus).
- Valid Ohio Driver's License.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to serve as a "good people person" when dealing with the public on building care.
- Ability to lift and move up to 80 lbs. and work shifts up to 16 hours.
- Comfortable working in various outdoor weather conditions and around machinery.
