ABOUT THE TEAM

 

We’re seeking a Manager, Real Estate Investments to join our London team.  Reporting to a Senior Director, our successful hire will contribute to the growth and management of PSP’s global real estate portfolio of assets (CAD$23 billion), by taking an active role in both real estate transactions and asset management.  Our London team looks at investments across all real estate sectors and up and down the risk spectrum, with a focus on Europe and APAC geographies.  Our preferred approach is to own assets directly, in partnership with first-class operating partners that have local expertise.

 

 

ABOUT YOUR ROLE 

 

As a Manager, Real Estate Investments, you’ll:  

 

• Lead the analysis, underwriting, structuring, and execution of real estate investment opportunities across a range of property sectors, investment vehicles, and markets
• Conduct complex financial modelling, valuation analysis, market research, and investment due diligence to assess risk-adjusted return opportunities and support investment recommendations
• Prepare and present investment memos, portfolio reviews, and recommendations to senior investment professionals and investment committees
• Manage transaction processes from initial evaluation through closing, coordinating internal stakeholders and external advisors, including legal counsel, consultants, operating partners, lenders, and other service providers
• Participate in the active negotiation of partnership agreements and purchase and sale agreements
• Monitor portfolio investments, assess performance against business plans and underwriting assumptions, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend appropriate actions to optimize value creation
• Apply sound judgement and investment expertise to independently manage assigned mandates while ensuring alignment with established investment objectives, governance requirements, and risk parameters
• Develop and maintain relationships with investment partners, developers, operators, lenders, brokers, and other market participants to support investment sourcing and market intelligence activities
• Contribute to sector research, portfolio reviews, and investment strategy discussions by providing market insights and informed recommendations within assigned areas of responsibility
• Coach and provide guidance to Analysts, Senior Analysts, and Associates by sharing technical expertise, reviewing analyses, and supporting professional development

 

Travel may be required.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

 

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline with a record of excellent academic achievement
• M.Sc. in Finance, MBA, CA or CFA designation are assets
• Six (6) years plus of relevant experience in commercial real estate (or real assets), within investment management and/or investment banking, transaction advisory
• Demonstrated experience evaluating and executing complex real estate transactions
• English required, additional European languages an asset
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities
• Strong knowledge of real estate investment analysis, capital markets, financing structures, and portfolio management
• Experience conducting commercial, financial, operational, tax, legal, and ESG due diligence
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and transaction management skills
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and investment analysis tools
