Description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of the full accounting and compliance cycle across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
In this role, the Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities, working closely with the Finance Manager, tax advisors, auditors, payroll providers, and other internal stakeholders. The role will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, coordinating timely month-end and year-end closings, and ensuring all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities for the local entity, with primary focus on:
- Trend and variance analysis.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Manage accruals and related accounting processes, with experience in accruals considered a strong advantage.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Prepare and file all applicable tax returns for the entity.
- Oversee internal and external communications with the tax office, banks, auditors, and consultants.
- Oversee accounts payable and check payments.
- Assist in the development of internal reporting and ad hoc analysis as required.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a similar environment.
- Advanced English is a must; German, Italian, or French is an asset.
- Professional knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong background in local code, Swiss GAAP standards and US GAAP is a plus.
- High level of discipline, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
