Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to manage and service a portfolio of commercial Property & Casualty insurance clients.
This position is ideal for an insurance professional with approximately 2–3 years of Commercial Lines experience at an insurance brokerage or independent agency, with hands-on experience supporting business clients and managing commercial P&C policies.
The Account Manager will work closely with clients, Producers, insurance carriers, and underwriters to coordinate renewals, policy servicing, account marketing, and coverage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and service an assigned portfolio of Commercial Lines clients.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for commercial insurance clients.
- Process policy changes, endorsements, renewals, and new business applications accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate renewal activities and gather necessary underwriting information.
- Obtain quotes from insurance carriers and compare coverage and pricing options.
- Prepare coverage comparisons and present appropriate insurance solutions to clients.
- Work closely with Producers, insurance carriers, and underwriters on new business and renewal submissions.
- Review commercial insurance policies to identify potential coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain accurate and complete client records and documentation in accordance with industry regulations and internal procedures.
- Provide responsive and professional client service while supporting strong client relationships and account retention.
Qualifications
- Native-level Japanese proficiency and professional-level English proficiency required.
- Approximately 2–3 years of Commercial Lines / Commercial P&C insurance experience within an insurance brokerage or independent agency environment.
- Hands-on experience servicing Commercial Property & Casualty insurance accounts.
- Experience supporting or managing a Commercial Lines book of business.
- Working knowledge of commercial insurance coverages and policy structures.
- Experience with renewals, endorsements, carrier submissions, and policy servicing.
- Experience working directly with insurance carriers and underwriters.
- Valid California Property & Casualty insurance license required.
- Proficiency with Applied EPIC software.
- Experience working with national admitted carriers and carrier portals, such as Hartford, Markel, Liberty Mutual, or similar carriers.
- Strong client-service and relationship-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze coverage needs and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with clients, Producers, underwriters, carriers, and internal team members.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has an insurance brokerage or independent agency background with practical experience handling Commercial Lines accounts and servicing business clients.
Candidates should understand the full account-management cycle, including client servicing, renewals, carrier marketing, coverage review, policy changes, and ongoing communication with underwriters and Producers.
The ideal candidate will also hold an active California Property & Casualty insurance license, be proficient with Applied EPIC, and have experience working with national admitted insurance carriers and their online portals.
