Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for carrying out numerous tasks related to the administration of the Human Resources Department. The incumbent will coordinate important HR functions such as onboarding, training, maintaining employee records, and other HR duties. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Requirements
Essential Functions:
- Maintains all paper/electronic employee files in accordance with agency standards and regulatory compliance
- Executes the entire onboarding process for all new hires including documenting pre-hire screening results prior to start, obtaining required documentation for the employee/health files, ensuring all necessary tasks are carried out to include but not limited to systems setup, assigning email and badge management.
- Coordinates recruiting process by creating job posting, scheduling and assisting hiring managers with interviews for non-manager positions. Initiates job offer to candidates.
- Assures that all necessary forms and database information required for the employment process are up-to-date, relevant, and accurate.
- Maintains any calendar or other alerts including, but not limited to, license and insurance expiration, on-boarding documentation, or other pertinent documents.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files and submits online eVerify requests.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on Payroll/Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- Provides exemplary customer service to employees by being available/approachable, answering employee questions/concerns via phone or email. Expected to respond to calls and emails for assistance within 24 hours Monday through Friday
- Keeps Director informed of all employee concerns and escalates situations appropriately.
- Performs periodic audits and maintains an organized process for document filing in employee, medical files and other ancillary files.
- Provides support for employees reporting a need for a leave of absences and workplace injuries.
- Assists with the preparation and tracking of performance review process.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Prepares termination forms, including separation notices and exit interviews.
- Assist in planning and execution of company sponsored special events for employees.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures at all times.
- Willingly performs all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience:
- Demonstrated organizational, management and leadership skills Must set an example for all employees.
- At least one year of office administrative/human resources experience.
- Working knowledge of computer software to include Microsoft Office, Google Suites, and experience with a human resources information system.
- Preferred Associate’s or Bachelors Degree (will consider commiserate experience)
- Preferred certification through Society for Human Resources Management or Human Resources Certification Institute.
- Preferred experience with Paylocity.

- Must be able to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written formats, with consumers, including, but not limited to parents, colleagues, and community service providers.
- Must maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record.
- Must be insurable by Methodist Children’s Homes insurance carrier.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure, high stress environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and TB test and on-going physical assessments as required
