Job Description
Overview
Build the future of transportation asset management.
You might know us for the great work we do across a wide variety of projects. We’re proud to say it’s thanks to our people’s diversity of thought, expertise and knowledge. When you join us, you’ll be part of a genuinely collaborative environment where every voice is valued and treated equally.
We are building the leading transportation asset management practice in the market, helping clients transform how infrastructure is valued, managed and invested in. Our reputation is founded on technical excellence, trusted delivery, innovation and real-world impact. We are looking for people who want to shape the future of the sector, influence major decisions, develop exceptional teams and help create better outcomes for the communities and economies that depend on transportation infrastructure. As part of our growing Asset Management practice, you will work alongside industry-leading specialists, digital experts and infrastructure professionals, helping some of the UK's most important transportation organisations address complex asset management, investment and organisational challenges. While our primary focus is the UK transportation sector, we also support clients internationally and provide opportunities to contribute to global best practice and projects.
Your role
This strategic leadership role will help infrastructure owners make better long-term decisions about assets, investment priorities and organisational performance. You'll lead advisory commissions, develop trusted client relationships, win and deliver transformational programmes, and provide technical leadership across our transportation asset management business.
You will work with organisations including national highway authorities, local highway authorities, transportation agencies and major infrastructure owners to:
- Develop asset management strategies, policies, strategic plans, roadmaps and operating models.
- Lead asset management maturity assessments and improvement programmes.
- Support long-term investment planning and value-based lifecycle decision-making.
- Advise clients on organisational transformation, change and operating capability.
- Provide independent technical assurance and expert advice.
- Support the development of national guidance, standards and industry good practice.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering consultancy and advisory services.
- Build trusted relationships with senior clients and stakeholders.
- Support business development, framework growth, work winning and the development of colleagues.
About you
You may come from highways, transportation or another asset-intensive infrastructure sector. You could currently work for a strategic or local highway authority, an infrastructure owner or operator, a consultancy, or within rail, utilities, aviation, defence, water or energy. We're particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in strategic asset management and consultancy or advisory work.
- Strong knowledge of the ISO 55000 family of asset management standards and their practical application.
- A background in developing asset management strategies, policies and improvement programmes.
- Expertise in investment planning and asset lifecycle decision-making.
- Experience leading organisational transformation and change.
- Strong client advisory, communication and stakeholder management skills, including influencing senior leaders.
- Experience of privately financed or design-build-finance-operate infrastructure contracts, including contract expiry, handback readiness, asset assurance or lifecycle planning, would be an advantage.
- The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor, coach and develop colleagues.
- A track record in business development, work winning or growing trusted client relationships.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the UK to support clients and business development.
