Company Description

Publicis West Africa (PWA) serves as a regional hub office for its client operations in the Central & West Africa region, encompassing around 22 markets. Among these, approximately 10 markets are actively engaged and act as sub-regional hubs for neighboring markets. Campaign work is predominantly crafted in English, French, and Portuguese, with various local dialects also prevalent in the markets we operate in. Collaborations with partner agencies in Francophone markets, Angola, and Nigeria, are essential to ensure impactful local delivery. Notably, communication within the Publicis network agencies is conducted in English, both in spoken conversations and via email.

Overview

The Multimedia Designer will be responsible for creating visually compelling designs that effectively communicate the brand's message, elevate its visual identity, and engage its target audience. Working closely with the wider creative teams, the Multimedia Designer will produce high-quality graphics for digital and print materials, billboards, social and digital content, advertisements, and promotional materials. The role will also create motion graphics, animation, and edited video content, turning visual ideas into engaging moving-image assets for social media, digital campaigns, presentations, and other relevant platforms. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of design and motion principles, and the ability to translate concepts into visually dynamic static and motion designs that support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Design Development: Translate creative briefs into exceptional design work that aligns with client needs and brand objectives. Conceptualize and execute new design ideas, graphics, layouts, and visuals across both print and digital mediums. Develop motion concepts, storyboards, animated graphics, transitions, and short-form video assets while maintaining the quality of the core visual idea.

Collaborative Design Process: Work closely with copywriters, account managers, and other designers to ensure cohesive design strategies and strong alignment with content, marketing, and branding goals. Collaborate with relevant creative and production colleagues to plan and deliver motion-led content from concept through final output.

Campaign Visuals: Create visually engaging content for multiple brands and campaigns, ensuring that all designs are optimized for both traditional and digital platforms and contribute to effective user experiences. Produce both static and motion-led campaign assets, adapting content to the technical and creative requirements of each channel and format.

Social Media & Branding: Ensure visual consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all social media channels, delivering high-quality and original visual content tailored to each platform. Create platform-appropriate animated posts, reels, video edits, motion templates, and other dynamic brand content while protecting visual consistency.

Trend Analysis: Monitor emerging visual trends, digital design best practices, and industry standards. Keep up to date with motion design, animation, video editing, and emerging multimedia content techniques.

Intellectual Property Awareness: Ensure that all visual content uses original imagery and respects intellectual property rights, maintaining a high standard of ethical design practice. Apply the same standards to music, footage, animation assets, templates, and other third-party multimedia elements, using appropriately licensed materials.

Other Duties:

Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with colleagues from various departments (creative, account management, strategy, etc.) to develop integrated marketing campaigns and strategies.

Campaign Development: Contribute to the brainstorming, planning, and execution of advertising campaigns, ensuring they meet the client's objectives.

Brand Consistency: Ensure that all advertising materials maintain brand consistency in terms of tone, style, and visual identity.

Quality Control: Review deliverables to ensure they meet the required standards and are free of errors before they are shared with account management. Check motion and video outputs for timing, transitions, audio-visual alignment, legibility, aspect ratio, resolution, and export quality.

Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in advertising, marketing, and design to ensure the agency remains competitive.

Problem-Solving: Address challenges and obstacles that arise during the creative or campaign process, working with others to find effective solutions.
