Description

Want to make a difference? Join an organization committed to sharing the hope of true transformation with those impacted by incarceration for nearly 50 years. Prison Fellowship® is the nation's largest Christian nonprofit equipping the Church to serve currently and formerly incarcerated people and their families, and to advocate for justice and human dignity.

Prison Fellowship and its church partners encounter Jesus with those behind bars, breaking cycles of crime and prayerfully anticipating a revival of justice, mercy, and hope in our culture.

Prison Fellowship® is an organization committed to the highest standards of conduct, ethics, and Christian values. Our conduct is guided by and grounded in the Bible, as reflected in our Statement of Faith below.

What We Are Looking For

A skilled marketing and communications professional who can help Prison Fellowship deliver timely, impactful, and well‑crafted digital communications to supporters, volunteers, and constituents. This individual will serve as the in‑house expert for email and SMS platforms, oversee marketing automation workflows, and collaborate across teams to create personalized audience experiences that strengthen engagement and advance the mission.

Working closely with marketing, fundraising, technical teams, and ministry programs, this person will manage email/SMS deployment, build automated user journeys, support CRM‑based audience segmentation, and analyze communication performance to drive continuous improvement. The strongest applicants are detail‑oriented, creative, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.

Role Responsibilities

Email & SMS Marketing

  • Oversee development and delivery of timely, high‑quality email and text communications
  • Collaborate with marketing and ministry teams to craft compelling messages
  • Conduct ongoing optimization testing to improve KPIs such as conversions and click‑through rates
  • Recommend design and content improvements based on audience insights

Marketing Automation

  • Build personalized user journeys using Marketing Cloud
  • Develop drip campaigns, welcome series, cross‑promotions, and automated communication streams
  • Support integration of marketing platforms, digital advertising channels, and web properties
  • Report regularly on communication performance and deliverability

Management

  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and skill development for a direct report
  • Conduct weekly check‑ins, annual reviews, and goal setting

CRM & Audience Management

  • Manage segmentation, list creation, and personalization across CRM and marketing platforms
  • Translate customer data and engagement signals into actionable audience strategies
  • Maintain frameworks for lifecycle marketing and cross‑channel campaigns
  • Partner with IT and analytics teams to ensure data accessibility and quality
  • Monitor list health, deliverability, and sender reputation

Key Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in email automation, platform support, IT support, marketing, or email optimization
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a digital‑related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud and Salesforce CRM required
  • Proficiency in SQL, HTML, Microsoft 365, and dashboard creation tools (PowerBI or equivalent)
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to analyze testing results, interpret needs, and develop creative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams
  • 1–2 years of experience managing or coaching team members or volunteers
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset
  • Ampscript experience preferred

Work Arrangement

  • Remote/work‑from‑home position
  • Up to 5% travel required

Salary at Prison Fellowship is determined by a variety of factors. For this full-time position, the budgeted salary is projected to be $70,000-$85,000 annually.

Our Statement of Faith

The Foundation of What We Believe

As a Christian organization, Prison Fellowship believes in the full authority of the Bible as God's inspired Word and the complete tenets of the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed.

We believe in one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, the co-eternal Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, God's Son, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died a substitutionary atoning death on the cross, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to heaven where, as truly God and truly man, He is the only mediator between God and man. We believe that the Bible is God's authoritative and inspired Word, without error in all its teachings.

How We Are Compelled to Live and to Act

We believe that Christians, both individually and corporately, must submit to the Bible as God's authoritative, divine, and inspired Word in all matters of belief and conduct.
