Context
We’ve all seen projects come and go with budget cycles, but this one is different. We’re talking about a career horizon that stretches to 2086. This is a chance to lead a package on the Newcastle–Sydney HSR corridor—a 100% renewable, greenfield network that is rewriting the rules of Australian infrastructure.
Missions/Main Duties
As Project Director, you aren't just managing a contract; you’re the sole accountable authority for the ECI design engagement. You’ll be the strategic face of the project, building executive-level trust with the Project Owner and government agencies to drive collaborative outcomes.
Profile/Skills
Lead the ECI design consultant engagement for a major package of the Newcastle–Sydney HSR corridor, owning delivery against programme, budget, and quality.
Act as the principal strategic interface with government agencies and Contractor JVs at the executive level.
Set the programme-wide design strategy and govern the integration of civil, tunnel, and systems workstreams.
Manage a multi-million-dollar design contract, including all commercial, risk, and change responsibilities.
Direct the procurement of specialist sub-consultants and oversee distributed onshore and offshore production offices.
Champion constructability and value engineering, ensuring construction methods and cost targets are embedded in design decisions from the outset.
Drive a manufacturing-led delivery approach, leaning into advanced robotics and digital design.
If you want to spend the next few years (or decades) working on something that actually moves the needle and offers the greenest credentials possible for your CV, we want to hear from you.
