Job Description
As a Security Officer - Restricted Area Control in BOISE, ID, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor visitor activity, and support a welcoming environment. You will use computer or tablet systems to maintain access records, communicate professionally with employees and guests, and help deter security-related incidents. - Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related logs and records.
- Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, lobbies, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel and visitors while providing clear directions, enforcing access requirements, and reporting maintenance or security-related issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
