Project Info ACCIONA, as part of the CoastalTraX consortium with Georgiou, Mott MacDonald and Aurecon, is delivering the greenfield works for Stage 1 of The Wave. This landmark project will build 19 kilometres of dual-track passenger rail between Beerwah and Caloundra, transforming connectivity across the Sunshine Coast ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
About the Opportunity As Senior Finance Analyst, you will deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis for The Wave Stage 1, reporting to the Finance Manager. You will manage monthly reporting, budget forecasting and compliance, and work closely with the Finance Manager and Project Management Team to strengthen financial control across the project. This is an opportunity to bring your technical accounting expertise to a landmark rail infrastructure program, with exposure to reporting systems, audits, insurance administration and bank guarantees that underpin project delivery.
Key Accountabilities:
- Operate and analyse monthly financial information in line with IFRS
- Design tailored financial reports to meet business requirements
- Review financial compliance of project agreements
- Develop and improve internal financial procedures and controls
- Prepare monthly forecasts and budgets, and analyse variances
- Manage insurance requirements and bank guarantees
- Support external audits and Head Office reporting requirements
- Maintain accuracy and discipline in cost coding, reconciliation and tracking of contractual obligations

- Own reimbursable cost approval process working with the project team and the client
Required Skills and Competencies
What Capability & Experience will you need to have
- Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting or business
- Accounting experience gained post-degree
- Prior exposure to a project environment — infrastructure, construction, engineering or similar
- Strong analytical mind - comfortable interrogating large datasets, spotting the variance that matters, and reasoning from incomplete information
- Intermediate to advanced Excel; working knowledge of ERP and cost systems (SAP, Oracle or similar) and Power BI or equivalent reporting tools
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS reporting standards
- Attention to detail in cost coding, reconciliation and obligation tracking
- Self-directed, comfortable chasing information across teams and holding people to reporting deadlines
