About the role:
The Procurement Specialist will be part of a focused, high-caliber procurement team responsible for sourcing and purchasing assigned non-product related (NPR) commodities in accordance with ethical standards and business requirements. The role aims to achieve procurement objectives through strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
What you will do:
• Review purchase requisitions, including specifications and scope of work, submitted by internal stakeholders.
• Process requests for quotations (RFQs) and purchase change orders with accredited suppliers.
• Conduct market canvassing to ensure the best commercial offers and value for the business.
• Gather supplier quotations and facilitate supplier selection in accordance with established procurement procedures.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and cost avoidance targets.
• Identify and develop new suppliers to maintain a competitive supply base.
• Maintain procurement business system data and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Facilities, and IT, to resolve supplier-related concerns.
• Participate in supplier evaluations, qualifications, audits, and business reviews to ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards are met.
• Monitor, consolidate, and report procurement KPIs and performance metrics.
• Perform self-audits to ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
What you will need:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or any related Engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience in the semiconductor industry or a related manufacturing environment, preferably in technical procurement.
• Proficiency in procurement and purchasing systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Strong experience in supplier negotiations, cost modeling, purchasing, and contract management.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented, diligent, efficient, and eager to learn.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
• Willingness to travel as required.
