Description
Manuel Machinist
As a Manual Machinist, you will perform routine and semi-routine assignment planning, layout, set up, operating, and making tool adjustments for various types of manual machine shop equipment. Working from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, including the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
Location: Hatfield, PA
Wage: $26.00-32.00/Hr

Your Challenge:
- Machine parts in small batch quantities using Engine Lathes, Manual Mills, Turret Lathes, Benchtop Lathes. Responsible for setup, operation, and proper tool selection to hold tolerances of +/- .001". Must be able to maintain high throughput and react to constant changing workload to meet customer demands
- Must be able to set up milling fixtures such as indexers and vices using DRO. Must have understanding of tooling applications and proper feed/speed for various operations and materials to maximize tool life and efficiency. Ability to grind tooling to make simple profiles required.
- Candidate is responsible for daily PM on equipment, as well as assisting supervisor in minor to moderate repairs.
- Responsible for daily logging of labor using ERP tracking software, as well as proper completion of all shop travelers to comply with ISO standards.
- Able to read and understand blueprints with family of parts tables to machine proper dimensions for components. Must be able to inspect parts using Calipers, OD/ID/Pitch Micrometers, Thread Gages, Optical Comparator to ensure parts are within tolerance. Must possess basic Arithmetic and Geometry skills. GD&T knowledge a plus.
- Experience working with various materials including Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Plastics, and Special Alloys required.
What you Bring:
- 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge of sheet metal and CNC equipment is preferred. Career Readiness Certificate (Silver or Gold), Certified Process Owner (CPO).
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, layout, and process worksheets, inspect parts, set-up, operate and maintain set-ups of machines, prove out CNC programs, and maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
- Ability to understand the importance of product quality and compliance to health and safety procedures.
- Practice Lean Manufacturing on a daily basis.
- Manual mill and lathe experience required.
