Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join our People & Culture team. This is a varied, hands-on role providing practical, commercially balanced HR advice to managers and employees across TriMech UK. The role will support workforce effectiveness, employee engagement and legal compliance while contributing to a positive, high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line HR advice and case-management support on employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary investigations, grievances, performance, flexible working and capability.
- Coach and advise managers on people issues, employment risk, policy application and HR best practice, balancing employee experience with business objectives.
- Support recruitment and workforce planning, including interviews, offers, onboarding and wider employee lifecycle activity.
- Analyse people data and HR metrics to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insight into clear recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to learning and development, succession planning, talent reviews and employee development programmes.
- Support organisational change activity, including restructures, consultations, role changes, integrations and business transformation projects.
- Review and improve HR policies, processes, systems and records, helping ensure consistent application, effective governance and accurate people data.
- Contribute to employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, alongside wider People & Culture projects and priorities.
About You
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, or equivalent practical HR experience.
- Experience in an HR Advisor, People Advisor, Employee Relations Advisor or similar role.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience managing disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance and workplace investigation cases.
- Ability to provide practical, balanced and commercially focused advice to managers.
- Strong written communication skills, including drafting HR documentation, reports, letters and policy guidance.
- Confidence using HR information systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret people data and turn insight into meaningful recommendations.
- Professional, resilient and solutions-focused, with sound judgement and the ability to handle confidential matters sensitively.
Desirable Experience
- Working towards or achieved CIPD level 5.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, technology, software, consultancy or professional services.
- Exposure to HR analytics, workforce planning, talent development, reward or HR systems improvement.
