Role: Semi Senior Accountant
Location: York
Salary: £30,000–£33,000 depending on experience

A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to strengthen its York team with an experienced Semi Senior Accountant. This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid practice background who is looking to continue developing their technical skills, take on greater responsibility and build their career within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.

Responsibilities of the Semi Senior Accountant job include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients
• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax returns
• Supporting with VAT and general practice accounting work
• Working with sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Liaising with clients and dealing with queries professionally
• Taking responsibility for your own workload and meeting deadlines
• Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
• Supporting more senior members of the team where required
• Developing your technical knowledge and taking on increased responsibility over time

Requirements of the Semi Senior Accountant job include:

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• Good experience across accounts preparation and general practice work
• Ideally AAT qualified or working towards/holding an equivalent qualification
• Experience working with a varied SME client base
• Good understanding of accounts and tax
• Confident communicating with clients
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Able to manage your own workload and work to deadlines
• A proactive approach with a genuine desire to develop within practice
