Location: Hull

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am–5pm | Friday, 8am–4pm

Castle Employment is working with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Hull that is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 1–2 years' experience in practice who enjoys preparing accounts, working with a variety of clients and developing their technical skills.

The Role

As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.

• Working from trial balances through to draft sets of accounts ready for review.

• Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance requirements.

• Liaising with HMRC where required and ensuring relevant deadlines are met.

• Managing routine client queries and building positive working relationships.

• Working closely with Senior Accountants to progress accounts through to completion.

• Supporting junior team members where appropriate.

About You

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

• At least 1–2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.

• Experience preparing year-end accounts, particularly for limited companies.

• A good understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.

• Confidence communicating with clients and working to deadlines.

• A proactive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing.

Qualifications are not essential! Whether you're studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA, or have developed your experience through working in practice, we'd be interested in speaking with you.
