Class Definition

Within the Access to Justice Office of the Supreme Court and under the supervision of the Assistant State Court Administrator for Access to Justice, the court-based Resource Center Coordinator shall be responsible for the daily operations of the Judiciary’s court-based Resource Centers and for furthering the mission of the Access to Justice Office.  The Resource Center Coordinator’s duties shall include, but are not limited to:

-        Assisting court users with navigating the court system through the provision of legal information and wayfinding guidance;

-        Assisting with the development and maintenance of resource guides and materials for self-represented litigants;

-        Assisting the Access to Justice Office in planning and administration of programs and initiatives for self-represented litigants;

-        Preparing reports and analyses for use in evaluation of the effectiveness of current programs and policies;

-        Collaborating with Judiciary staff to further programs and policies; and,

-        As assigned by the Assistant State Court Administrator for Access to Justice, performing any other duties related to the mission of the Access to Justice Office.

 

Qualifications for Appointment

A bachelor’s degree is required, but it is preferred that the successful candidate have graduated from an ABA accredited law school and be a member of the Rhode Island Bar in good standing.  Working knowledge of legal process in Rhode Island is required.  The successful candidate shall be English-Spanish bilingual; fluency/competency in other languages is a plus.  Must have demonstrated customer service capabilities, a high attention to detail, and excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
