Description
This is a 12 - month contract with our client in the Banking sector. The working model is hybrid.
Oversee the governance, maintenance, and strategic lifecycle management of critical banking assets across branches, campuses, data centres, and ATMs. This role balances capital expenditure (Capex) control, financial reporting, risk mitigation, and team leadership to ensure asset availability and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Maintenance & Availability: Oversee day-to-day asset maintenance to ensure critical infrastructure remains reliable, safe, and fit for purpose.
- Capital & Financial Control: Maintain accurate asset registers, registers control, valuation, and depreciation models; manage financial performance against targets and justify variances.
- Lifecycle & Strategic Planning: Partner with Finance, Procurement, Tech, Facilities, and Risk to plan asset refreshes, replacements, disposals, and cost-optimisation strategies.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure full alignment with Group policies, accounting standards, regulatory obligations, health and safety standards, and audit expectations.
- Stakeholder & SLA Management: Manage internal and external relationships to ensure strict adherence to service level agreements and client requirements.
- Team Leadership & Process Improvement: Lead and develop a high-performing team while driving continuous process improvements and business continuity plans.
Minimum Requirements
- Qualifications: Relevant bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Asset Management, or a related field (CA/CIMA or equivalent professional qualification advantageous).
- Experience: 5+ years of senior experience managing capital expenditure, fixed asset registers, or infrastructure asset operations within banking, financial services, or a highly regulated multi-site environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of fixed asset accounting standards, depreciation models, lifecycle costing, and financial risk controls.
- Regulatory Expertise: Working knowledge of statutory, regulatory, health & safety, and procurement compliance frameworks.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing technical teams and driving operational performance against strict SLAs.
