Job Purpose:
Responsible for delivering high-quality service activities, including maintenance contracts, system upgrades, troubleshooting and lifecycle support in line with customer requirements and Yokogawa service standards. Supports service sales activities by identifying customer needs, developing service opportunities and contributing to long-term customer relationships and business growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Execute system installation, application configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service activities in accordance with customer requirements and Yokogawa standards.
- Design, implement, test, and troubleshoot I/O configurations, basic control functions, interlocks, sequences, operator interfaces, and other automation/control system components.
- Perform and supervise hardware installation, instrumentation wiring, loop checking, loop drawing verification, and associated troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of project drawings, databases, technical documentation, and service records.
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and complete all required quality documentation in accordance with Yokogawa procedures.
- Independently execute assigned service activities and projects, taking ownership of deliverables while working under the guidance of the Lead Engineer or Manager.
- Support maintenance contracts, system upgrades, lifecycle services, and other service-related activities to ensure customer satisfaction and continuity of operations.
- Provide technical support to Service Sales by identifying customer needs, developing service opportunities, supporting quotations and proposals, and contributing to the growth of the service business.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery, technical support, and effective communication.
- Manage assigned activities efficiently, ensuring effective time management and accurate, timely reporting of working hours in accordance with company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with project and service teams, while maintaining the ability to work independently across multiple projects, customers, and Yokogawa products.
- Provide customer training, technical guidance, and knowledge transfer as required.
Qualification and Experience:
- Preferably be graduate in Engineering – Process Control Systems / Instrumentation / Electrical & Electronics.
- Minimum 3 to 8 years’ experience in Industrial Automation Control systems preferably Yokogawa DCS.
- Previous work experience on offshore FPSO/Terminals/Platforms will be preferred.
- Min 4 years in handling small to medium projects / site maintenance activities as resident engineer.
- Any additional certifications like TuV are an added advantage.
Required Competencies / skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical skills in troubleshooting and investigation of complex issues reported from site.
- Adaptable and quick to learn new instrumentation and control system technologies.
- Good and effective team player.
- Resolving complaints/ problem solving skills.
- Understanding of the quality practices.
- Bilingual [English and French speaking] is mandatory.
